“We became foster parents for a few reasons. I used to work for child protective services in Alabama as a foster care worker and got to know many foster kids. As a case worker I would see them quite a bit and even built a relationship strong enough to last more than 10 years! Fostering/adopting is always something that I knew I wanted to do. After I got married, I easily convinced my husband as well. Working in the system I saw many kids who just needed some love and a place where they felt safe, both things we take for granted. We decided that if we could provide a child or children with a loving family and a safe and secure home, that was the least we could do as humans. We recently got approved and have yet to have a placement in our home, but we are ready and excited! We know that it will be a great experience for our family!”
